German, Japanese and French test practice in the real format

German: Goethe-Zertifikat and TestDaF. Japanese: JLPT N1 to N5. French: DELF, TCF Canada and TEF Canada.

Each practice test follows the latest official format for its level: the parts, the task types and the timing, in the language being tested. Reading and listening are marked automatically; writing and speaking are assessed by you against criteria written in plain words. The tests are original, written for this site, and are not official material.

After each test you see the skills that cost you the most and practise those. Listening uses your browser’s own voice; where a browser has none for the language, the script is shown with a warning that this is easier than the real test.

Languages exams

How it helps you improve

  1. Take a full test: Timed and marked like the real exam.
  2. See your analysis: Your score by section and topic, and the topics that cost you the most.
  3. Practise those topics: Short sets, with an explanation after every question.
  4. Take the next test: It shows whether your practice worked.

Questions and answers

Is this official Goethe, JLPT or France Éducation international material?

No. The practice tests are original and written for this site in each test’s format. Official sample papers are linked on each test’s page.

How does the listening work?

Your browser reads the recordings aloud with its own voice. If it has no voice for the language, the script is shown instead, with a warning that this is easier than the real test.

Are the tests free?

Yes. The tests and the practice are free. A free account keeps your results, your weak topics and your plan.
